CIRCLE BANK ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF NEW BOARD MEMBER

Novato, CA, June 1, 2007 – Circle Bank announced today that Steve Ghirardo, partner in Novato-based Ghirardo CPA and the Ghirardo Real Estate Group companies, has been elected to its Board of Directors. In making the announcement, Board Chair, Kit Cole said, “Steve Ghirardo has been a friend and colleague of this bank for years, and we are pleased to be able to have his knowledge, professionalism, and business wisdom available to us on a more formal basis to help guide our continuing growth and success”.

Ghirardo earned a BA in History from Stanford, then earned an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley, and a Masters in Taxation from Golden Gate University, finishing first in his class in the graduate tax department. He also holds a Real Estate Broker license. After working as an accountant with Kenneth Leventhal & Associates, a national CPA firm specializing in banking and real estate, (a stint that included gaining audit and tax experience while working on the accounts of some of the largest real estate developers and landlords in Silicon Valley during the booming 1980’s). Steve then returned to his home town Novato to work for Moser and Paul Accountancy Corporation, a well-respected local CPA practice.

In the mid 1980’s Ghirardo’s father Ed, who founded his CPA firm in the 1960’s convinced Steve to help run the two family businesses – a local CPA practice and a dynamic real estate development company. In November of 1990 Steve joined with his brother Gerald to formally acquire both their father’s and Dean Moser’s accounting practices, and thus began the present-day Ghirardo CPA firm, which has expanded to include over 35 professionals and support team, engaged in all areas of accounting, tax, business and real estate consulting.
