Leslie was born in New York and moved to California in 1971. She attended City College of New York and then attended the University of Montana in Missoula. In 1992, Leslie started working for Jerome Porter Accountancy (Scott Porter's father) as his administrative assistant and joined Scott when he opened his own practice in 2001.

Leslie has been married to her husband for 33 years and has one son. She enjoys traveling, tennis, and has been part of a book group for 26 years.
