Scott Porter grew up in the San Francisco North Bay area, attending Redwood High School in Larkspur and graduating with a BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from San Francisco State University.

After college Scott met his wife of now 22 years and moved to Alaska to work for a small CPA firm in Ketchikan. In 1991, he returned to California to join his dad's (Jerome Porter) accounting firm. He passed the CPA exam in 1994 and continued to work with his father until he started his own CPA firm, the Scott Porter Corporation, in 2001. The Scott Porter Corporation served the North Bay and specialized in high net worth individuals, small businesses, trusts and estates. A creative thinker and accomplished planner, Scott excels at helping his business and individual clients with his ability to deliver client-determined value around tax and financial planning services. Scott merged his firm with Ghirardo CPA in 2010 to expand his service offering to his North Bay clients.

Scott and his wife live in Rohnert Park and have 3 daughters. Scott is an avid bird hunter, fly fisherman and guitar player. He also enjoys time spent with his family and friends. Scott is a member of the California Society of CPAs, the National Contract Management Association, and attends Calvary Chapel of Petaluma, where you might find him playing his guitar on a Sunday.
