Jim was raised in Novato, attending local schools and graduating from Novato High School in 1981. A third generation accountant, he began his career working for his mother’s practice in Novato, Jean Alderman EA. Jim passed the Enrolled Agents exam in 1993 and assumed the management of Jean’s firm upon her retirement. In 1997 he opened his own office in Bel Marin Keys, specializing in Individual and Small Business taxation. In the off-season he filled the role of Controller for a local wine label printing company, handling all phases of accounting and tax reporting.

Jim lives in Petaluma with his three children, John, Clay and Delaney. When he’s not working Jim enjoys fishing, camping and playing with his kids.
